Butler County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.As of the 2020 census, the population was 193,763. [2] Its county seat is Butler. [3] Butler County was created on March 12, 1800, from part of Allegheny County and named in honor of General Richard Butler, a hero of the American Revolution.

Butler Township is a township in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 17,230 at the 2020 census. [2] The township was first settled by Europeans in 1795. It was established as a township in 1804 and as a first class township in 1922. [3]
The township is located in the northeastern corner of Butler County. It is bordered by Parker Township to the south, Washington Township at the southwestern corner, and Venango Township and the boroughs of Eau Claire and Cherry Valley to the west.
