Williams Township is a township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, United States. The township's population was 6,581 at the 2020 census. The township is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. as of the 2020 census.
In the township the population was spread out, with 22.8% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 90.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.5 males.
Pennsylvania Route 56, the Johnstown Expressway, leads 5 miles (8 km) from U.S. 219 northwest to the center of Johnstown. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 20.6 square miles (53.4 km 2), of which 20.6 square miles (53.3 km 2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km 2), or 0.15%, is water.
