Re: making your own marine plywood out of home depot plywood?? I just use a scraper, sometimes cardboard and pour my epoxy on the wood and then spread it around. And I used epoxy to fix up some old wood (wood was in overall good cond, and and oddball size), it had rotted a little in some of the ends/corners, but it had fully dried out.
Re: making your own marine plywood out of home depot plywood?? Marine plywood is 125.00 in my area, so I bought a 4x8 3/4 medium density overlay (mdo) for 50.00. It has far fewer voids than exterior ply, waterproof glue, and a beautiful one side finish.
I have called around a number of local lumber yards, to order 5' x 9' X 1/2" plywood, either douglass fir ext grade or marine grade. They make it seem that 5x9 is not made anymore, or at least not available from their suppliers.Really prefer getting the 5x9, because it will require three 4x8 to...
Re: making your own marine plywood out of home depot plywood?? To replace the flooring on a pontoon boat is a 1 week full time job. If you're working weekends, it might take 4 weekends working hard. Since it's so time consuming, there's no reason to skim on materials. My pontoon is a 1985 model, and it still has the original marine plywood on it.
The ASQ pressure treated plywood like you buy at Home Depot will eat/corrode your aluminum boat and it also has a very high moisture content that will render flooring adhesives into worthless goop. Truth: If you do use the CCA PT ply you need to seal the top side of the deck if you're going to install carpet, even though it won't rot you'll ...
BEHR Premium 1-gal. #902 Slate Gray 1-Part Epoxy Concrete and Garage Floor Paint-90201 at The Home Depot on some exterior stairs with this additive mixed in: BEHR Premium Non-Skid Floor Finish Additive-97024 at The Home Depot and it looks good, is non slip that you can walk on with bare feet and cheap compared to other coatings. I wouldn't ...
In other words if your worried about rot due to moisture use pressure treated plywood. Marine grade plywood is NOT more rot resistant than pressure treated plywood, it is only a better grade of materials, in that it has less defects, gaps, holes, spaces, etc within the ply's. Second link is about building boats with plywood.
Home Depot is walking distance from my office here in New Orleans. I'm picking up some 3/4" marine plywood to rebuild the transom. $95 per sheet !!!!!! so, I'm gonna walk over to Home Depot to get a saw blade and other stuff and I was wondering if they sell epoxy and what kind should I use...
Hi all - I just picked up a sheet of plywood at Home Depot on sale, it's 3/4" "furniture grade hardwood ply". Looks like birch or similar. Cost was $26 for a 4x8, both sides clear and "sanded" veneer. It's good quality stuff, even coming from Home depot. Unlike most of what they offer...
I read that exterior plywood is best but everything I saw on Lowes.com and HomeDepot.com said pressure treated for 1/2". The only other ones I saw were indoor sanded plywood. I want to avoid marine plywood bc of costs. If you guys can direct me to a good plywood type (maybe with link) that is under $40 a sheet that would be great.
