We are dedicated to empowering everyone, whatever their background or experience, to come together in their community to make or present music.

    The Making Music model constitution, or legal governing document, has been developed with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and is designed specifically to give a legal framework to leisure-time music groups that run as a charity.

    As the National Federation of Music Societies and now as Making Music, we have been supporting amateur music since 1935. In 1933, at the height of the Great Depression, amateur choirs, orchestras and music clubs were struggling to promote concerts and even to survive.
