In May 2016, Architects released their seventh album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us. [1] The album reached number 15 in the UK, [2] the top ten in Australia and Germany, [9] [10] and number 109 in the US. The album debuted on charts in five countries but failed to appear on any mainstream top 40. To promote it, Architects released five music videos, toured five continents (2012's Almost World Tour was filmed for the documentary One Hundred Days) and issued a re-release of the album to commemorate their departure from Century Media Records.
On 20 April 2022, the band released the brand new single "When We Were Young" along with an accompanying music video. The song premiered on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo, along with an interview with Sam Carter afterwards. On 10 September 2018, Architects released teaser videos online which utilised instrumental versions of "Doomsday" and "Memento Mori", which were later that day taken down. [ 13 ] [ 14 ] The band released the album's lead single, "Hereafter", in conjunction with the public release of the album art, release date and track listing.
