I'm looking into buying a tt in the 20'-25' range and would like to hear your top 3 travel trailer brands with regard to quality construction and ease of maintenance. Also please list your bottom 3 brands so I can avoid the duds. Thanks, Mike
I'm thinking something made in the 2000-2010 time-frame will allow for enough depreciation to fit my 10k price range, without any of the components being too old. I'd like to focus on the mid- to high-range of RV brands, for the sake of quality, and to avoid leaks.
Once we saw that trailer we knew it would work for us. Compared to the conversion van it was luxurious and suited our type of camping, with our fellow rv camper friends/family, which simply put, consists of long weekends, week long and the annual 2-3 week trip with a couple of 2-3 day boondocking trips thrown in!! Safe travels and all the best.
The RV manufacture ultimately bought the RV back at full price, but our friends went through nine months of hell in the process. In my opinion, It's inexcusable, that a $150,000.00 RV could make it off the manufacturer's line with so many problems, but equally as inexcusable that an authorized warranty repair center couldn't fix everything.
The cheaper the RV, the lesser quality materials & workmanship and the more likely there will be ongoing problems. However, usage, care, and the environment are huge factors in the life of an RV. An RV with a light duty design & construction can still last a long time with light use, good care, and protection from extremes of weather and road ...
The best today, likely so, since I doubt anyone has done nearly what Monaco did earlier this century. Still, Monaco Manuals for DPs are available from 2000 to 2019 here: Monaco RV Service & Repairs - Monaco Coach -- the later ones aren't nearly as detailed as the earlier ones, but still are 180 plus pages.
I frequent several different websites where trailers of all type (rv and non rv) with 3500 lb axles/14" tires on up to 8000 lb axles and 16"/17.5" tires are used for road work and play. For ST225/75-15 load D or E the Providers are the go to tire on road work trailer websites.
Can you help my husband and I with any new fifth wheel brands/models that have the ability to tow a boat behind it. Our boat is a 2017 Alumacraft fishing boat 18.5' under 3,000 pounds. We currently have a 2007 Cruiser which was modified with a hitch to pull a boat, and so far it has worked well.
I put Eternabond tape around all the sides and roof vents then the Liquid Rubber over it. I wanted zero roof maintenance for 20 years and I believe it is good for another 11 years. There are a lot of copycat brands calling themselves liquid rubber but most are acrylic elastomeric products that are substandard alternatives.
I operate a custom RV trailer to bring mobile showers & restrooms to homeless people. It has 2 showers, 2 toilets, and regular gray water and black water tanks. Our sewer hoses take a lot of wear and tear being we set up at 6 different locations each week. Most of our clean outs are up-hill, so...
