The University's 1st XV rugby team, the Loughborough Students RUFC, were promoted to the National One division in 2012, which is the 3rd tier of English rugby. Other sports teams include the Loughborough Aces (collegiate American football ), Loughborough Lightning of the Netball Superleague and Loughborough Hawks, an amateur netball team.
The building was home to most of the university departments until purpose-built accommodation was created. [3] It was renamed the Fielding Johnson Building in 1964 and has since become the main administration building of the University of Leicester.
