Alpine Mountain Ski & Ride Center is a former ski area in The Poconos of Pennsylvania located south-east of Scranton, Pennsylvania. It has 21 trails including 3 greens, 12 blues and 6 diamonds. [ 1 ] It also has a terrain park located on the east side of the mountain at the bottom of the Swivel trail.
The idea for the ski resort emerged from developer Karl Hope's need to supplement his existing summer investments in the area. [7] Hope owned The Shawnee Inn and had various ventures on the Delaware River. To create a year-round attraction, Hope decided to develop a ski resort, leveraging his experience with smaller ski areas in the Northeast. [8]

Penn Hills Resort, bubble bath, circa 1970s Penn Hills Resort was a honeymoon resort located in Analomink, Pennsylvania , in the Pocono Mountains . Founded as a tavern in 1944, the resort grew in the 1960s, with over a hundred rooms in the hotel [ 1 ] and a ski resort and golf course on the 500-acre site.
Constructed in 1898 as an eight-room inn, Mount Airy Lodge was re-constructed in the 1950s as the Pocono's largest resort. In its heyday in the 1960s and 70's, Mount Airy had more than 890 rooms, indoor/outdoor pools, skiing, snowmobiling, ice-skating, hiking, biking, horseback riding, archery, an 18-hole golf course and paddle ball courts on over 1,000 acres of property.
Big Pocono is home to a ski area called Camelback Mountain Resort and Big Pocono State Park. The park lies on the summit of the mountain, where there are hiking trails and picnic tables. Views from the summit are extensive. On a clear day the Delaware Water Gap, High Point (New Jersey) and the Catskill Mountains in New York State can be seen. [2]
