The Santa Clara Broncos are athletic teams that represent Santa Clara University. The school colors are red and white. The nicknames for teams is The Broncos and the student fans are referred to as the "Ruff Riders". The Broncos compete in the NCAA Division I (NCAA) as members of the West Coast Conference of which Santa Clara is a charter member.

The 2024–25 Santa Clara Broncos women's basketball team represented Santa Clara University in the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Broncos are led by interim head coach Michael Floyd. The Broncos are members of the West Coast Conference and play their home games at the Leavey Center.
After completing his bachelor's degree in kinesiology at California State University, Hayward in 1986, Smith became the head coach at Santa Clara University in 1987.
