  2. Showerhead Drips After Water Turned Off - AskToolTalk.com

    www.asktooltalk.com/.../bathtubs_showers/showerheads.php

I'm not talking about a leak where the showerhead attaches to the shower arm but rather water dripping from the end of the showerhead. It's a slow drip, not continuous, and it does eventually stop. I have a tub spout where I pull up on the handle to start the shower. Anything you can tell me would be most appreciated.

It's also possible that the tub/shower valves need a tune-up. My guess, however, is that your shower valves are not pressure-balance valves. Installing one in each shower would help eliminate the problem. The valves balance the pressure on both the hot and cold sides to prevent accidental scalding or cold-water shock due to pressure fluctuations.

We have a single-lever kitchen faucet with a sprayer attachment. The sprayer does not work properly: it dribbles. I have replaced the sprayer head with no better results. With the sprayer head off, water comes out of the hose but not forcefully. I cannot find a brand name on the faucet. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thank you.

Rather than tear into the finished floor, I suggest that you start in the basement ceiling where the soft spot is located. Place a bucket directly under the soft spot and open a small hole using a keyhole saw. The bucket will catch any water that may be trapped in this area. Remove enough of the drywall to open the area under the shower and toilet.
