When encountering guys with tough guy reputations of their own (William Smith, Richard Egan, and now Bob Mitchum), Charlie backed down when put on the spot. Young Charlie was reportedly friendly with Richard Boone, guest starring twice on Boone's 50's series MEDIC and 5 times on the late 50's-early 60's series HAVE GUN - WILL TRAVEL. Charlie also had a bit in RED SKIES OF MONTANA and a supporting part in A THUNDER OF DRUMS.
