Pfeiffer Big Sur is an extremely popular campground. Reservations fill up six months in advance, even in the winter. Online reservations are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at ReserveCalifornia .
Walk along the banks of the river and among the redwoods, conifers, oaks, sycamores, cottonwoods, maples, alders and willows. A large campground accommodates hikers, bikers, car campers and RVers. Many campsites are located along the Big Sur River.

PLEASE NOTE: Camping in the two designated sites is the only camping permitted in the park. Camping or sleeping inside a vehicle in the parking lot or on the highway is not allowed. CAMPING FEE: $30/night. Senior Citizen Discount: Age 62 or older, $2.00 off.
Camping is still available at several Big Sur area state parks including Pfeiffer Big Sur and Julia Pfeiffer Burns. Andrew Molera Trail Camp is scheduled to re-open late spring of 2025. Reservations are strongly encouraged for all campsites.
PINE RIDGE TRAIL **OPEN**. 23 miles one way. The trailhead is located at the Big Sur Station just south of the main entrance to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Primarily a Ventana Wilderness Trail, the first 2.5 miles skirt Pfeiffer Big Sur's campground and the Big Sur River Gorge.
The park is open to day use visitors from 8 a.m. to sunset. The entrance station opens at 8:00 a.m. and closing times vary. When the entrance station is closed, visitors are required to pay camping and day use fees by following the self-registration instructions. Speed Limit
