Go to the seed map app on the site or just click on nether fortress finder. Enter the version you're playing, put in Java or Bedrock, and then enter the seed. The seed map shows you everything, man. In addition, I believe travelling along the X axis helps to find fortresses. In addition, fortresses cannot spawn in either nether forest biome. They can overlap into one, but they cannot start generating there, so when looking for a fortress you might want to avoid them. He explains how to find a fortress using the pie chart by pressing SHIFT + F3. He basically looks for a spawner block (the blaze spawner) and using his render distance and going in and out of chunk borders, he can tell which direction a nether fortress is.
2. If you're trying to find a nether fortress, go to settings, and then Video Settings. Just turn up the brightness all of the way and the render chunks some. Not all the way, because it can cause lots of lag for even fast computers because of the "Deepness" of the Nether. It goes along way, and its just a lot for computers to render.
Players who travel along the X-axis (east or west) will have the best chances of finding one; those who travel north or south may travel for hundreds or thousands of blocks before discovering a fortress.
