Hemi 5.7. I went the other way with the Flowmaster Super 40, a little quieter than the FlowFX and perfect for me. Has the deep rumble of the Hemi but not too loud to bother the neighbors unless you get on it in the driveway. You can definatly hear the rumble in the cab when you give it gas, enough to make it more enjoyable to drive but not too ...
6.7 Cummins - Tuned and Deleted. I ran the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system which uses the 50 series HD muffler on my old 1500. It had a 4.7 so slightly different than the hemi but still going to have a very similar sound overall. Here's a sound clip I had put together of it if you're interested.
I like the price and sounds. I have never heard of carven until now. Flowmaster I have always heard of because mustangs. The flowmaster outlaw I had installed on my 13 GT. I loved the sound and matched what I was looking for tone wise. Now my dilemma Carven or Flowmaster Outlaw. May 1, 2020. #2.
In my experience your observations are correct. Magnaflow is a straight through design but is not a “raspy” and doesn’t snap crackle pop like flowmasters. But flow is better IMO, We have plenty of back pressure created by our super restrictive cats in these trucks. So get that heat and leftover pressure out.
If you're looking for the juicy details of adding a flowmaster super 40 409S style muffler, allow me. I had hoped for a muffler swap only when I took it to the shop. Knowing it was going to need at the very least, an extension pipe in front of the muffler to install it. Got a call, tails were too far gone to reuse, no chance to be welded.
Ram Year. 2007. Engine. 5.7 Eco Gasser. I just asked this same question, but I got the 50 DF. Supposedly the 50 HD accommodates the back pressure needed on the Hemi's (I've had this issue in the past), get a SI/DO (single in 3"/dual out 2.5") Feb 9, 2017. #3.
2 weeks ago I put on a Flowmaster 50 series HD (part# 817568), kept both resonators on. Engine start up, at idle & accelerating through all 8 gears sounds great. When cruising at ~1700-1800 RPM I get a fairly noticeable/irritating drone in the cab. I tried dis-engaging the MDS by downshifting & drone is still present.
Flowmaster's Outlaw® direct fit muffler for the 09-18 Ram 1500 5.7L V8 is perfect for the person looking for a very deep and aggressive sound level outside and inside the vehicle with all of the performance benefits that you would expect from Flowmaster.
CincyCuda68 said: instalked the Flowmaster American Thinder on the 2500 tonight. Anyone that has this on the 6.4, how did you get the tips to tighten up. No matter how tight I make the bolt I can still spin them. Stripped one of them overtightening had to get a new stainless nut and bolt. Everything else went easy!
Engine. Hemi 5.7. I have the FlowFX muffler on my truck and I couldn't be happier. The FlowFX has a real deep, throaty sound. As far as volume level - If the stock exhaust is a 1/5 the FlowFX is a solid 3.5/5. It doesn't idle very loudly. When you step on it though, you DEFINITELY know it's there.
