The door ajar light is on and the alarm is sounding. It also looks like the compressor is running continuously. Pressing the alarm reset shuts of the sound alarm for a few minutes, but has no other effect. Briefly removing power to the freezer shuts off the compressor, light and alarm, but after a few minutes the fault condition returns.

Inspect the evaporator for excessive frost buildup. If you find excessive ice then fully defrost the appliance. Fully defrosting includes emptying the appliance and unplugging it and leaving it with the doors open for at least 24 hours then wipe the inside clean with bleach and water to prevent mildew.
To replace it unplug the freezer, remove the clip that holds it locked on and pull. It will pull straight off leaving the pins just like the compressor pictured below. Appliance Technician: Barry G. The control has to be faulty. It will beep if the door is open and it will beep if the freezer is warming.
