Anthony Edward Walsby, FRS (died April 14, 2024 [1]) was a Professor of Microbiology at the School of Biological Sciences, University of Bristol. [citation needed]He was a researcher in the fields of Algae, Cyanobacteria, lake ecology, gas vesicles and genetics, covering the European lakes and Baltic Sea. [2]

Rebecca Marie Watts (3 June 1998 – 19 February 2015) was a British student from Bristol who was murdered in 2015 at the age of 16. [1] In November 2015, her step-brother, Nathan Matthews, was found guilty of her murder and was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 33 years.
