Dueñas was the first-born daughter from the marriage between Miguel Dueñas Padilla (Spanish descent) and Guadalupe de la Madrid García, [1] first cousin to former president of Mexico Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado and Enrique O. De la Madrid's granddaughter. Her father was a student at the Catholic Seminary.

The purpose of the academy is to promote historical studies within Mexico, conduct research into all aspects of the history of Mexico, and to contribute towards the preservation of the national cultural heritage. It is a correspondent academy to the Real Academia de la Historia in Madrid, the equivalent national academy of history in Spain.
Juan de Dueñas (c. 1400 – before 1460) was a Spanish poet and soldier. He is considered, along with Francisco de Osuna and others, one of the first Spanish mystics , "forerunners" of those in the 16th century.
