Rahway High School is a four-year public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Rahway, in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Rahway Public Schools. The high school's present location was built in 1941.

Gray was born on June 22, 1928, in Rahway, New Jersey, the son of Emily and Alfred Mason Gray. [3] The family moved to the Jersey Shore community of Point Pleasant Beach. [4] He transferred from Rahway High School to Point Pleasant Beach High School, where he played baseball, basketball and football, graduating as part of the class of 1945. [5]

He attended Rahway High School in his hometown of Rahway, New Jersey. [3] After winning a partial scholarship, he left his family's small restaurant in Rahway, to become a doctor. [4] He majored in chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1950. Vagelos later earned an M.D. from Columbia University in 1954. [5]
