    Its alright, because I've figured it out! When you mask the crop tool you should do /mask >(ID). This puts the blocks in your brush on top of the farmland, whereas < would place it under the farmland.

    And finally, Worldedit-5.5.6 which I literally just updated; Perhaps it's one of the many mods I am running that is causing the wand to fail, however all the other mods appear to be working flawlessly, and to be honest I would rather not have to give any of them up simply for the wand.
