This ROM is super frustrating. So there are actually two different versions of this ROM, but both are named identically. I found this one by searching for "1636 – pokemon fire red (u)(squirrels)" while looking to play GS Chronicles. However, the version of this ROM that Boris linked does not work with GS Chronicles.
Simply supply a 1636 Pokemon Fire Red Squirrels ROM and choose a version to receive a patched Radical Red ROM. If you don't see 4.1 on the Radical Red patcher you probably need to clear your browser cache. Other patching resources if the above option does not work:
"1636 Pokemon Fire Red ( U)( Squirrels)" is the name of the FireRed ROM you'll need to patch the Unbound rom file. This one specifically is the one Unbound is built upon, other FireRed ROMs won't work. It can easily be found online through a Google search. And this is a free online patching tool

The hacked rom that I want to play says that I need 1.0 in order to play the game, because 1.1 won't work. The file size of this one is the same that I had already (1.1), could you enlighten me? I already tried searching the archive.
Patch the 4.1 using the a fresh squirrels fire red rom (the only way the patcher will allow. It WILL NOT let you update a 4.0 rom) On the game menu on delta long press the 4.0 rom, click export save, save to files. Long press the 4.1, click import save. Import that same save file. Voila - 4.1 on NG+.

Compatability This patch is built on the following ROM: 1636 - Pokemon Fire Red (U)(Squirrels) and adds data to 0x800000-0x8FFFFF, so make sure you have free space here before you patch. (If you use a clean rom, that shouldn't be an issue) It removes the old songtable at 0x4A42CC (0xADC bytes) so you can use this area for whatever you may want.
Lately, I've seen a few posts where the evidence suggests that the problem lies with trying to use the wrong version of Fire Red. Most hacks use Fire Red 1.0, commonly called the 'Squirrels' version. So, let Hibrunel here (Paleomon's resident squirrel 'mon) stand as a friendly reminder to seek squirrels when next you need a Fire Red ROM.
