Dates, pineapple, miles circuit, yoga ball bouncing/hip rotations and curb walking (and regular walking or hiking or doing a workout is even better) during the day, pump/nipple stimulation and sex (with both you and hubby climaxing) at night - this is what I was told by my doula at least, FTM and only 38 weeks so not yet trying to induce labor though so can’t speak to the effectiveness lol
all the wives tales are actually more geared toward productive uterus in labor and not kickstarting labor itself. You can’t make labor happen unfortunately. Having sex can provide a hormonal trigger for the cervix to dilate and so can membrane sweeps but if baby isn’t ready then even these methods won’t work.
with my first I had prodromal labor for 4 weeks and my second baby 2 weeks. Did a membrane strip with baby 1 and baby 2 was a 2 mile curb walk and sex. I was having consistent 10-15 min contractions all day and within 20 mins after the sex my contractions were 2-3 mins apart, baby was out within 5 hrs of labor.
