But the fact that you're looking at SUNY is a good start. But with current Educational cuts that are directly affecting SUNY schools, it's good to keep an eye on the tuition and the finincial aid you recieve. Overall, Stony Brook is a wonderful SUNY school for Pre-Meds because of their research oppertunities and training hospital.

Value - I think stony brook is the best value out of all the SUNYs. though all 4 schools charge the exact same tuition you get private school quality. in anatomy lab you have 4 per cadaver as opposed to 6-8 at the other schools. classrooms and lecture halls are decked out with modern equipment. 2.
The three SUNY schools I got into are Upstate, University at Buffalo, and Stony Brook. Due to their probation status I am iffy about Upstate. However, I equally liked UB and Stony Brook and I just can't seem to decide.
The IS *matriculated* for SUNY schools is also skewed a bit because of B.A./M.D. students who are guaranteed seats meaning that regular applicants are competing for fewer seats than advertised. That said, there's no point in obsessing over statistics or who decides what.

Some SUNY schools accept much more OOS students than other state schools, while some (SUNY Upstate) really don't like OOS'rs. If anything, SUNY screws us NYS people over in this process much more than other states. Couple Examples of 2013 matriculants from OOS SUNY Buffalo: ~30% SUNY Upstate: ~10% SUNY Downstate:~20%
Im in the same boat as the OP, i was getting worried. I have decent stats (3.5 gpa, 3.63 BCMP, 32R MCAT) I havent heard from downstate (my top choice), stony, or buffalo.
