Trybe TV is a 24 hours Nollywood movie channel owned by CMA Group. On 25 November 2015, Trybe TV was launched as a movie channel with Nollywood, Ghollywood and Yoruba speaking movies interposed with original lifestyle programming available in Nigeria on DSTV and GOtv.
The film is about two best friends, Paul and Ortega, whose landlord died just before their annual rent was due. Without a landlord to pay rent to, the pair decided to have some fun with the money; unfortunately, the landlord had a daughter, Yemisola, who informs them that they will be evicted if they do not pay their rent within 24 hours.
This method was adopted and built on by producers and distributors at Alaba Market to reinvent the film industry, since the Nigerian cinema culture was facing a major decline. The first film produced on video in Nigeria was 1988's Soso Meji, produced by Ade Ajiboye. The film was also screened at the few available theatres at the time.
