When you visit Caledon State Park, head slowly to the beach along the Potomac River. It is wild and you should not swim here, but enjoy some knee deep wading in spots, and explore the endless and aged collection of driftwood along its length.
Caledon lets visitors see bald eagles in their natural habitat. Guests enjoy the park's picnic shelter and enjoy hiking its mature, ancient forest.
Only a short 30 minute drive from Westmoreland State Park is Caledon State Park, a National Natural Landmark and the summer home for what is dubbed “one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles on the east coast.”
Caledon State Park is the east coast bald eagle capital and a favorite destination for bird watchers of all ages. This is primarily a day use park with special history and nature programs throughout the year, some allowing special after-hours access.
The Caledon State Park Art and Wine Festival is a family-friendly event spanning two days: Saturday, November 2nd (10am - 5pm) and Sunday, November 3rd (10am - 4pm) rain or shine. Tickets are required for each day.
