November 22, 2002. Picacho Peak State Park is a state park surrounding Picacho Peak in Picacho, Arizona. The park is located between Casa Grande and Tucson near Interstate 10 in Pinal County. Its centerpiece spire is visible from downtown Tucson, a distance of 45 miles (72 km). The summit rises to 3,374 feet (1,028 m) above mean sea level.
The Little Picacho Wilderness is located in the southern portion of the Lower Colorado River Valley, with its eastern side along the Colorado River (Little Picacho Wash runs ~ 1.5 miles (2 km) downstream); and is 10 miles (16 km) north of Yuma, Arizona and Winterhaven, California.

Yucca angustissima is a low-lying species forming colonies of basal rosettes up to 3 m (10 feet) in diameter. Leaves are long and thin, up to 150 cm long but rarely more than 2 cm across. Flowers are white to cream or greenish-white, pendant, borne in racemes on stalks up to 2 m (7 feet) tall. Fruit is a dry capsule with black seeds.
