The Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking supports projects and programs that align with priorities that support our strategic vision of creating a Milwaukee for all. We also have many charitable funds that conduct their own grant cycles throughout the year.
How to Apply for Grants. 1. Complete an organizational profile via our Grants Portal (required). Only agencies with completed and visible profiles are eligible to apply. Click on "Create New Account" to complete the registration process and create your logon credentials.
Who may apply. 501 (c) (3) organizations and, on occasion, governmental agencies. An organization that is not a 501c3 may be eligible to apply if it is able to secure a fiscal sponsor agreement with an otherwise eligible organization.
Milwaukee, Wis., June 13, 2023 - The Board of Directors of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation today announced that Greg Wesley will be the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. Wesley succeeds Ellen M. Gilligan, who announced her plans to retire after more than a decade of leadership at the Foundation.
Gregory M. Wesley, JD, became president and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation in 2024. Prior to assuming this position, Wesley served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors and as co-chair of the ThriveOn Collaboration, representing the Medical College of Wisconsin.
