Greenbank Farm was founded in 1904 by Calvin Philips and his family as a model dairy farm with to goal of bringing commerce to Whidbey Island. The now iconic barn was built the same year. [ 1 ] In 1906, 125 acres of land was cleared along what is currently Highway 20 to make room for the expanding cattle herd.

Greenbank Farm with its large historic, “Whidbey 1904 Barn” is a popular venue for weddings, social gatherings and seasonal markets. The Shops at Greenbank Farm, independent tenants of the Port of Coupeville, are located here as well.

Maxwelton is an unincorporated community located on the south end of Whidbey Island, Washington. [1] [2] A post office called Maxwelton was established in 1908 and remained in operation until 1924. [3] The community was named after Maxwelltown, in Scotland. [4]
