WrestleMania 2000 (also known as WrestleMania 16) was the 16th annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It took place on April 2, 2000, at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim in Anaheim, California. A total of nine matches were contested on the event's card.
WWF WrestleMania 2000 uses the exact same game engine previously seen in WCW/nWo Revenge, which released the previous year. More than 50 WWF wrestlers were included in the game, and, with the exception of existing superstars' move sets, all of them can be freely edited to the player's liking.

For the 2000 event, the winner received a match for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 2000. The main event was the 2000 Royal Rumble match, which The Rock won by last eliminating Big Show. The undercard included a street fight match between Triple H and Cactus Jack for the WWF Championship which Triple H won to retain the title.

VPW 2 omitted the newly introduced Cage match and First Blood match of WrestleMania 2000 as they were unconventional to Japanese wrestling (a common misconception is that a "First Blood" option does exist, whereby, if the wrestler bleeds twice the match is stopped by the official - however this is a referee stoppage match setting).
