East River High School is a high school located in east Orange County, Florida, United States. It is located in the Bithlo area. East River High School was built in 2009 as a relief school to reduce overcrowding in nearby high schools Timber Creek High School and University High School .
Six of the high schools in OCPS have separate ninth-grade centers, three of them off-site of the main campus, built after the shift from K–6/7–9/10–12 to K–5/6–8/9–12. Some elementary middle and high schools include magnet programs that allow students to specialize in particular subject areas.
University High School also has a well known Athletic Training program, Veterinary Assisting program, Culinary Program, Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement (AP) classes. The school has been named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. [2] The school's mascot is a Florida Cougar named Casey the Cougar. The school colors are navy blue and vegas gold.
As of the 2014–15 school year the school had 3,641 students, of whom 35% were white, 32% African American, 24% Hispanic, 7% Asian, and 2% multiracial. [7] The school underwent a series of renovations which finished in 2015. A new building has been added, along with new VPA classrooms on the South Campus.

Timber Creek, like most high schools, offers many Advanced Placement (AP) classes. The APC (AP Choice) program is an advanced placement program for freshmen and sophomores. The APC program puts its students in classes with other APC students, and moves these classes at a faster pace than normal honors classes.

As of the 2014–2015 school year, the school's enrollment was 3,873. The racial makeup of the school was 51% White, 24% Hispanic, 16% Black, 6% Asian, 2% Multicultural, and 1% Native American. As of the 2016–2017 school year, 4,285 students are registered for classes at West Orange. [3]
