Crops are grown on the fertile Barotse floodplains and along the margin of the flood plain, in particular maize, rice, millet and vegetables. The sandy soils of the province are good for Cashew nuts plantations which are not being exploited this day. The province has a huge forest a high potential for timber cutting and finishing investment.

Western Province covers 99,300 km² and is the largest province in Papua New Guinea by area. [2] [3] There are several large rivers that run through the province, including the Fly River and its tributaries the Strickland and Ok Tedi rivers. The largest lake in Papua New Guinea, Lake Murray, is also in Western Province. [4]
Mwandi is a small town on the Zambezi in the district of the same name [1] of the Western Province in Zambia. The town is 120 km west of Livingstone, on the M10 Road to Sesheke. [2] The village is part of the region known as Barotseland. The town is the seat of a parliamentary constituency of the same name. [3]
