Thomas & Friends is a children's television series about the engines and other characters on the railways of the Island of Sodor, and is based on The Railway Series books written by the Reverend W. Awdry. This article lists and details episodes from the nineteenth series of the show, which was first broadcast in 2015.
Thomas [1] NWR 01/LBSCR 70 A little blue 0-6-0 tank engine who works on the Island of Sodor on the North Western Railway. He initially worked as the station pilot at Knapford. After helping to rescue James from an accident, Thomas was rewarded by being permanently assigned to the Ffarquhar branch line with his two coaches, Annie and Clarabel.
Thomas is chosen by the Fat Controller to collect the famous Italian opera singer Allicia Botti from the docks, leaving aside dirty Percy, who is a "Guaranteed Connection". However, Thomas' pride soon goes away once Allicia screams at the sight of a mouse in Clarabel.
Thomas & Friends [e] is a British children's television series that aired for 24 series and 584 episodes from 9 October 1984 to 20 January 2021. Based on The Railway Series books by the Reverend Wilbert Awdry and his son Christopher , the series was developed for television by Britt Allcroft .
The rest were broadcast in a 6-episode offshoot called Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales in 1996. In 1999, they aired in a new half-hour program called Storytime with Thomas, which also included Series 5 episodes narrated by Alec Baldwin and episodes of Britt Allcroft's Magic Adventures of Mumfie.
All of the stories in Series 1 were originally written by the Rev. W. Awdry, including a one-off story commissioned by the staff: Thomas' Christmas Party.The seven engines introduced in this series became the core of the cast in later episodes, with crew member (and from Series 8–12, director) Steve Asquith terming them the "Magnificent Seven".
