Storm Lake is located in the northwestern part of the state, along the north shore of its namesake Storm Lake, a glacial lake. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.09 square miles (10.59 km 2), all land. [19]
Most were one- or two-story structures. The railroad arrived in Albia 1866 and Clinton Street connected the depot with the square. Three brick buildings from 1868 and the 1870s remain on the square and they are the oldest structures in the district. [2] The last frame building on the square was destroyed in a fire in 1902.
