Originally the GT Sports Club are contested with GT3-spec, RACB G3, GTE-spec and Trophy cars but during the COVID-19 induced hiatus it was re-organised for the new GT2 regulations and changed the name to GT2 European Series. It supports the GT World Challenge Europe in various circuits along its calendar.

The 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli is a planned motor racing championship for GT2 cars and will be the 5th running of the GT2 European Series. It is organised by SRO Motorsports Group. The championship will be contested over twelve rounds held at circuits throughout Europe. It is scheduled to begin in April and end in October.
