Yuta Okkotsu (Japanese: 乙骨 憂太, Hepburn: Okkotsu Yūta) is the protagonist of Gege Akutami's manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0.He is a teenager who is surrounded and helped by the Cursed Spirit of Rika Orimoto, his childhood friend who died six years before the story and is cursed because both of them promised to get married when they grow up.
There, Yuta meets the sorcerers Panda, Maki Zen'in, and Toge Inumaki, who try exorcising Rika but are easily stopped by her. Yuta starts training with Maki, who mentors him in swordsmanship. During a mission, Maki motivates Yuta to fight if he wants to be accepted, which causes him to briefly control Rika to destroy a Cursed Spirit.
Sukuna is able to repel Yuta and cut him in half. After this, Yuta is barely alive and Rika is able to take him to Shoko's team, when he decides to go forward with his prior agreement with Gojo to use Kenjaku's technique and take over Gojo's corpse to fight Sukuna again, saving Yuji and Todo from the latter's Domain Expansion, by initiating Gojo's.
The man behind the attack was Suguru Geto, a previous student and old friend of Gojo, who defected from the school and killed over a hundred innocent people on a mission. Geto attempts to get Yuta on his side so they can make use of Rika, but Yuta refuses when he insults Yuta's friends due to unsettled circumstances.
