HMS Britannia was a 120-gun first-rate ship-of-the-line of the Royal Navy, laid down in 1813 and launched on 20 October 1820. [1] Britannia enters Portsmouth in 1835, George Chambers. Commissioned in 1823, she saw service in the Mediterranean from 1830-1 and in 1841.
Southampton, moored on the River Humber at Hull, was established as a training ship in 1866. On 31 July 1868, the ship was officially certified as an industrial school ship, allowing it to take boys committed by magistrates. The vessel could accommodate 240 boys aged from 11 to 15. [2] On 26 November 1879, three inmates set fire to the ship.

The 1820 Settlers were several groups of white British colonists the British government and the Cape Colony authorities settled in the Eastern Cape of South Africa in 1820. Some 25 or so ships carried the settlers.
