MuHS is home to three show choirs that achieved success under the direction of former director, Sherry Hager. "Kaleidoscope" is a mixed varsity show choir of 40 students that was founded in 1980 by Mrs. Hager and was one of the first show choirs in both West Virginia and Berkeley County.

Spring Mills High School is the fourth high school in the Berkeley County, West Virginia school system, which opened in fall of 2013. On opening, the student body was formed from about one-half of the student body of each of Martinsburg High School and Hedgesville High School, which had become overcrowded. Martinsburg High School hosts the Berkeley County School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) WV-071 curriculum. Each year this program instructs over 200 students from all BCS high schools. In 2019 the AFJROTC WV-071 unit earned the highest Headquarters AFJROTC evaluation grade of Exceeds Standards.
