TVP1 (TVP Jeden, Program Pierwszy Telewizji Polskiej, [1] "Jedynka") is the main public television channel of TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.), Poland's national television broadcaster. It was the first Polish channel to be broadcast and remains one of the most popular today.
TVP HD is a special High Definition version of the Polish public broadcasting channels (Telewizja Polska). A digital terrestrial multiplex carrying the channel was available in Warsaw , Poznań , Zielona Góra , Żagań , Kraków , Leżajsk and Krosno from the 6 to 25 August 2008.
On June 1, 2012, two nationwide networks, TVP1 and TVP2, started broadcasting in HD quality. Polish Television was working on introducing 3D images to its channels. On 9 December 2011 TVP Polonia was added to terrestrial MUX3 in Poland, then removed on 19 July 2016 to free up some space for TVP Info HD. [6] On 4 September 2020 TVP Polonia HD was added to DVB-T2 test multiplex (also known as MUX5). [7] Unlike satellite broadcast, it is broadcasting there in 1080p50 [8] (on the satellite, it is in 1080i). [9]
TVP Info replaced TVP3 and was launched October 2007. It has regional branches in most of the major Polish cities and, similarly to France 3 in France or Rai Tre in Italy, for a couple of hours every day it broadcasts regional programming, including local news and reports in sixteen versions.
