If you're using Apple Mail app on your unidentified iPhone model, I suggest that you try this work around: go to Settings>Mail>Account and delete your Yahoo account, restart your iPhone, then re-add your email account, after checking your outgoing/incoming parameters (SMTP/IMAP/POP3) with Yahoo support team.

The Yahoo Mail app seems to always work, as does logging into Yahoo web mail from a browser. It's just mail clients that have problems.
