James Marion Logan (December 19, 1920 – October 9, 1999) was an American and former National Guard soldier who was a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration—the Medal of Honor—for his actions in World War II. Logan was elected to the board of trustees for Washington Union High School in 1931. He used his farming equipment to condition the sports field at the new school. On October 16, 1931, he and fellow Trustee, James Cleveland Whipple, were killed in an auto accident in Hayward. [3] Both were interred at Chapel of the Chimes cemetery in Hayward.
