Hoboken University Medical Center is a community hospital located in Hoboken, New Jersey with 190 beds. It was founded in 1863 as St. Mary Hospital and operated under that name until 2007. The hospital is owned by Hudson Hospital Opco, known as CarePoint Health, an organization that also owns Bayonne Medical Center and Christ Hospital .
In 2014 it merged with the Bayonne Medical Center nursing school. [10] In 2011 it was announced that the hospital would be sold to Prime Healthcare Services. [11] The proposed sale was the focus of significant community concern, [12] generated competing offers, [13] [14] and Prime Healthcare's original offer was withdrawn on February 1, 2012. [15]
