The presence of Jerry Sandusky on this list of Wheaties athletes (in 2012, after he was indicted for numerous counts of child abuse) is an offensive prank--right? Tennis champion Coco Gauff joins a long lineage of athletes to be featured on the coveted orange Wheaties box. Coco Gauff is the latest athlete to endorse the “Breakfast of Champions.”
As the year continues, Wheaties plans to recognize athletes who have previously graced the iconic orange box and "shaped sports culture."
Gauff's Wheaties box comes a few months after 39-time major champion and an equal rights pioneer Billie Jean King was honored by the brand. “I’ve had so many role models in this sport help guide my professional and personal journey, and I hope to keep empowering the next generation to also work hard and dream big,” Gauff said. ___
