The Welch's/Fry's Championship was a golf tournament for professional female golfers that was part of the LPGA Tour from 1981 to 2004. It was played at the Randolph Golf Course in Tucson, Arizona . From 1981 to 2002, it was played on the North Course and in 2003 and 2004 it was played on the Dell Urich Course.
Originally sponsored by Fry's Electronics, it was first staged in 2007 as the Fry's Electronics Open at Grayhawk Golf Club's Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was renamed to the Frys.com Open in 2008 and moved to California in 2010 , to CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin , southeast of San Jose .
Frys.com Open was the name of two distinct PGA Tour golf tournaments sponsored by Fry's Electronics, both of which still exist under different names. Shriners Children's Open , played in Las Vegas, known as the Frys.com Open from 2006 to 2007
The Gallery Golf Club is located east of Marana, Arizona, northwest of Tucson at Dove Mountain. The two 18-hole courses are approximately seven miles east of Interstate 10 at an average elevation of 2875 feet (850 m) above sea level .
From 2010 to 2013, CordeValle hosted the Frys.com Open on the PGA Tour; in October 2013 it was the first event of the wraparound 2014 season. The tournament was previously conducted at Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and moved to Silverado Country Club in Napa in October 2014. [7]
