It was also the deadliest season since 2013 , and became the fourth-costliest Pacific typhoon season on record, mostly due to Typhoon Yagi .
On September 28, the JMA upgraded 20W into a tropical storm, naming it Krathon, a replacement name for Mangkhut. It then intensified into a Category-1 typhoon, heading towards Sabtang, Batanes.
