Mayuri Kurotsuchi (涅 マユリ, Kurotsuchi Mayuri) is a fictional character in the Bleach anime and manga created by Tite Kubo. He is the current captain of the 12th Division of the Gotei 13 and overseer of the Soul Reapers' Research and Development Institute.
Mayuri stabs Szayelaporro, who perceives the slow pain to be an eternity from his perspective, through his hand and heart. Mayuri denounces Szayelaporro as a scientist for his vainglory as breaks the blade and proceeds to help himself to the Espada's research. Meanwhile, Kenpachi has difficulty fighting Nnoitra before he assumes his released form.
The second transformation, known as bankai (卍解, lit. "final release"), is an ability normally seen in Soul Reaper captains that requires ten years minimum to master. [1] Once achieved, the Soul Reaper can unlock the full potential of their zanpakutō, increasing their own power several times over. [6]
Mayuri relies on his new, altered Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō Matai Fukuin Shōtai, releasing a giant pregnant spirit that can give birth to a Ashisogi Jizō tailor-made with abilities for any specific battle, provided that Mayuri has analyzed his opponents' tactics and abilities enough beforehand.
His bankai allows Rose to use music to create the illusion of physical pain (burning, drowning, etc.) as long as his opponents hear the music. But bankai is useless against opponents who are deaf or who deafen themselves. Rose is voiced by Shouto Kashii in the Japanese version of the anime [55] and by Christopher Corey Smith in the English dub.
Uryū begins to fight Mayuri, but is quickly disabled by the paralyzing abilities of Mayuri's zanpakutō when his lieutenant, Nemu Kurotsuchi, uses her body to hold down Uryū. Mayuri then reveals that he has experimented on many other Quincy, including Uryū's grandfather, Sōken Ishida , and was responsible for his death.
The majority of named hollows appearing in Bleach are monsters of the week used during Bleach's first arc. After Ichigo's return from Soul Society, the hollow-based characters known as arrancar are introduced, with the basic hollows having lesser roles and rarely used as villains except in the anime side-story episodes.
