This is a list of Sonoma County Landmarks as designated by the Sonoma County's Landmark Commission. [ 1 ] It is intended to include all Sonoma County government-designated landmarks in unincorporated areas of Sonoma County, but to exclude landmarks in separately incorporated cities and towns.
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is a governing body with jurisdiction over Sonoma County, California.Among other things, the Board is responsible for managing Sonoma Water, the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District, the Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, County Sanitation Districts, and the Community Development Commission.
The land was purchased for public use between 1995 and 2011 by the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District. A Landpaths permit program allowed public access in 2010. The park was opened to the general public on February 23, 2013 with four miles of dirt trails for hikers.
