99 Songs is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language musical romance film directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, and co-written and produced by A. R. Rahman (in his maiden production banner YM Movies), who thus makes his debut in both roles, apart from composing the original score and songs.
A preview of the first single track titled "Ay Pilla" was released on 14 February 2020, [6] to coincide with Valentine's Day [7] and the full lyrical version of the song on 11 March 2020. The song had lyrics written by Chaitanya Pingali and was sung by Haricharan with Nakul Abhyankar , Hiral Viradia singing additional vocals. [ 8 ]
The music production of the film began in mid 2020 and in a Zoom video interaction, Prasad revealed that five songs were finalized for the film and had started composing the tunes during the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19.
