The branch was founded in 1910 and initially occupied several storefronts. The Kings Highway branch moved to its current location in 1954, designed by architects Knapp and Johnson and constructed by the Department of Public Works in 1954. It was the first branch library to be erected in Brooklyn by the City of New York. [6]
