Run for Cover Records is an American independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004 by Jeff Casazza at the age of 17 with a $1,000 loan, the label functioned as a small one-person bedroom operation in Brighton , until Casazza graduated Suffolk University in 2010.
[6] [7] On April 27, 2018 Varsity released their sophomore record, Parallel Person, on Babe City Records. [ 8 ] On October 30, 2018, Varsity announced their signing with Boston-based independent label Run For Cover Records and released two new singles, "The Dogs Only Listen To Him" and "UFO".
The band then signed to Run for Cover Records and reissued their first two EPs in a compilation, Get Olde/Second Wind. [5] In 2015, Corbo left Crying to focus on his other band, LVL UP. The album was self-released by Glass Beach on 18 May 2019, and re-released on 24 January 2020 upon the band being signed with Run for Cover Records. [ 3 ] The album was worked on for three years, starting from when the band was formed, and the songs in the album went through multiple iterations until they were finished.
The album was announced on November 6, 2023, set for release on January 19, 2024, by Run for Cover Records. [4] The announcement came with the second single, "Rare Animal". [ 4 ] The song includes gang vocals from the full band and their "secret fifth member Daxe", which vocalist J McClendon likened to a Greek chorus .
Colourmeinkindness was made available for streaming on 15 October, [20] before being released on 23 October through Run for Cover. [21] In mid-November, the band played their final shows in the UK, [ 22 ] prior to reforming in 2014.
