Un Certain Regard (French: [œ̃ sɛʁtɛ̃ ʁəɡaʁ]; 'A Certain Glance') is a section of the Cannes Film Festival's official selection. It is run at the salle Debussy, parallel to the competition for the Palme d'Or. This section was introduced in 1978 by Gilles Jacob.
Since 1987, the Official Selection includes a separate jury and its President in the frame of the Caméra d'Or ("Golden Camera") which chooses its best feature film presented in one of the Cannes' selections (Official Selection, Directors' Fortnight, or International Critics' Week).
