Location. The Big Country. Jan 22, 2020. #2. My son killed a Caribou with American Gunner from his 6.5 Creedmoor. Supposedly the same stuff as Black. Didn't cause as much internal damage as the 140gr Elite Hunter did on mine, but did not appear to just pencil through though. John.
And Running a Savage Stealth factory chassis rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor with a reworked trigger and the factory 143 ELD-X Ammo. Decided to forgo reloading for it this deer season because this ammo is consistently sub half MOA in my rifle, yields consistent single digit SD's, all while exceeding the factory ammo velocity a bit.
Utah. Mar 27, 2018. #8. Buttermilk said: The Hornady 6.5mm 123 ELD-M component bullet for handloaders actually has the Interlock ring inside the jacket to help hold the core in place. I was told that it had the interlock ring, so I cut one apart and melted the core out just to confirm.
End of the Oregon Trail. Oct 28, 2017. #6. Hornady list 40.9 Gr as max for H4350 in the Creed with 140 gr. bullets. Speed was 2650 out of a 24" barrel. So it might be H4350. The other thing I have read is big ammo manufactures do not use the same powders as on the shelves. They use special blends.
Yes. I just bought a 6.5 CM for hunting, and I'm concentrating my two hunting bullets on the Nosler Ballistic Tip for medium size animals, and likely the Nosler Accubond for elk (though I would likely use my 30.06 or .270 instead of the 6.5). I'm staying away from match bullets for hunting. I just think when the manufacturer gives a warning ...
Folks, I do not know what my obsession with the 160gr Interlock roundnose is. I love loading with this bullet. I use Hornady virgin brass, 36.5gr of RL15 or 41.0gr of Win 760. CCI 200 or #34 primers large rifle. I load the bullets to 2.740, and using my Magneto Speed Chrono have tracked them at 2449fps (RL15), and 2509fps (Win 760) respectively.
13. Location. North Carolina. Apr 25, 2023. #1. Loaded up some 129 Hornady Interlocks yesterday for my Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor. While I'm very happy with the 3 shot group, I'd like to have a little more velocity out of it. I'm loading fired Starline SRP brass, just under Hornady max at 42.3gr. H4350, cci450 primers and .020" off.
Reloading skills evolve with time, and like most things, the basic fundamentals are the cornerstone for safety and success. H4350 is the default powder for the 6.5cm and will work well, it is in no way to be used for .44 magnum. CCI or Federal Large Rifle Primers are good primers for the 6.5cm.
138. Mar 12, 2019. #1. I bought my first 6.5 Creedmoor. It's a Tikka T3X Superlite. I'm still waiting to get it from my gunsmith and I haven't even shot it yet. Anyway, I have been trying to figure out what kind of ammo to buy to try out in it. Buds Guns had Hornady Precision Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor 143 gr ELD-X for only 26 bucks.
